Kim's Convenience is the humourous and poignant story of a Korean family and their convenience store set in modern day Toronto. It began as part of fu-GEN theatre company’s playwriting unit in 2006. At the 2011 Toronto Fringe Festival, it won the New Play contest and the Patrons Pick award. In 2012, it opened Soulpepper Theatre Company’s season, toured across Canada and was published by House of Anansi Press. In partnership with Thunderbird Films and the CBC, it is now a half hour tv comedy series.
